This is a Skeptic project.

“Hey, we should turn that big window into a snow globe.”

“Ha. Yeah. We should.”

“No. Really.”

And so we did.

Well, we did a lot more than that. But what started off as a nearly thrown away idea during a brainstorm with the ISM team about their 2012 holiday card, eventually turned into a fund-raising-attention-grabbing-tweet-soliciting success.

The combined ism/Skeptic team of illustrators, animators, and developers took full advantage of its 6th floor Back Bay locale, projecting animations on the massive window overlooking Boylston Street. Each night after 5pm, passers by were enticed to send a tweet including “#ismWishes.” When they did so, $1 was donated to the Lazarus House in Lawrence, ma, an animation played on the screen, and their tweet was featured on the supporting website.

While the yetis, narwhals, and penguins featured in the animation were certainly the biggest cheer-enducers of the project, the combined effort raised over $1,000 for charity—and that certainly brings smiles to our faces.
